It is a story
As old as time
Set to music
Set to rhyme
Full of smile
And little laughs
And few tears
That soon pass
Full of hugs
And lover’s kisses
And some chocolate
For the Mrs.
Full of hope
And deep sighs
And a peace
That does surprise
Full of kindness
And apologies
And forgiveness
‘Thank you’ and ‘Please’
Full of trust
In God above
That He will always
Bless your love
For the gift He gave
Is loyally sweet
A love that makes
Your heart complete
And on this day
As others do
You say, “Forever,
I love you.”
For she really
Loves him dearly
For he gladly
Loves her madly
Her curls may have fallen out
Her hair may have turned gray
But inside where it counts
There her beauty stays
I send a little note to tell
How sorry I am that you’re unwell
I know we’d all want to explain
How we wish we could remove your pain
But for now we are only sure
That you must resolve to endure
And hope to find some temporary relief
In knowing that your pain is brief
And that you have friends all around

The places you go
